Who Called Today v1.1
(C) Copyright 1991-92 by James R. Davis and Dave Navarro, Jr.
There are a number of other programs for PCBoard/ProDoor which perform the
same function. However, what I wanted was one that let me design my own
header, and showed the time in 12 hour format instead of 24 hour format. The
way WHOTOD works is simple, it checks the current date against the date of the
bulletin file. If the dates don't match, the header is copied over the old
bulletin and the new information is appended to the file.
To correctly using this program, using the following command:
WHOTOD Whotod.cnf [drive/path]PCBOARD.SYS
Whotod.cnf is the name of the CNF file you want to use for the program
that contains all the variables that you have set for your system. The
drive/path are optional and should only be used if PCBOARD.SYS is not found in
the current directory. If it is not in the current directory, the drive/path
should point to the directory and drive of where PCBOARD.SYS is located.
WHOTOD is used by calling it within a batch file whenever a user logs on
your BBS. Each time it is called it will rewrite the bulletin file of who
called today automatically. Edit and read the comments contained within the
WHOTOD.CNF file for information on the various options you can select from in
the program. The will place a small 3 line header at the beginning of the
bulletin that cannot be changed, but this cannot be avoided at this time. All
the header shows what each of the fields means. If you select to use a header
file of your own, you can either change the supplied TCALL.HED file to your
own purposes, or leave it out all together.
All the comments in the CNF file are deleminated by placing any character
in front of the line to comment (using a semi-colon [;] or remark tick [']
will gaurentee it appears as a comment). The header file can contain PCBoard
color codes and @ commands, or ANSI color codes and as many or as few lines as
you wish to put into it.
This program is Shareware and not free! The registration fee for this
program is only $5. Use the ORDER.FRM included in this ZIP file for further
information on ordering. Once registered you will receive a registration code
that will be good for not only this version but any future versions that may
be released in the future.
I hope you find this program of use and you consider it a worthy addition
to your PCBoard utilities, support the Shareware concept. Thank you for
giving this program a shot!
